Private security agencies are a critical part of the security infrastructure in India. These agencies offer security services to individuals, enterprises, government organizations, and other associations. India's private security industry has expanded significantly in recent years.

In India, as per the report by the Ministry of Home Affairs, there are more than 18,000 private security agencies operating, with over 7 million people employed in the industry. The Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, of 2005 governs private security agencies and provides guidelines for licensing and regulation.

Private security agencies in India provide a wide range of services, including security for events, individuals security, residential security and commercial properties, and transportation and logistics security. The services provided by these agencies are essential for preserving public safety and preventing crime.
